We want you to experience a stay like you're a local. The best kept secrets, swimming holes, hiking trails, best items on the menu, and fun things to do on a rainy day with kids.
Known for their tomato pie entree or appetizer and eclectic atmosphere. BYOB.. yep that's right, bring your own beer or bottle of wine. They will give you a glass and an opener so you can enjoy your drink of choice. Wildflower offers brunch on Sundays.
Farm To Table Restaurant sources all food from local farms. The chef changes up the menu based on what produce and meats he is able to get in season. Everything is delicious and will leave you licking your plate clean. Elevation is the only place in town that makes specialty drinks -- we highly suggest the cranberry margarita.
Newly renovated gas station and convenience store that also doubles as a restaurant and bar with beer and wine. This is a go to spot during the week to grab a quick bite, delicious pizza, or hang out to get to know the people that make Mentone so great. Tuesday is Taco Night.
A MUST SEE. The Hatter Cafe is a whimsical experience the moment you walk in the door. The entire restaurant is inspired by Alice In Wonderland. The Hatter Cafe serves delicious breakfast and lunch. If you call a day in advance, you can get high tea for breakfast. Our favorite items on the menu are the Lavender Tea, Hashbrown Casserole (Breakfast Menu), and the Meatloaf Pie (Lunch Menu).
Noah serves a variety of family recipes from his Airstream within the eclectic gardens of Moon Lake Trading Post. Enjoy delicious tacos next to a bald cypress or beautiful azaleas and hydrangeas. He makes specialty items throughout the year and we recommend trying them all if you get the chance.. especially the pumpkin pie or blueberry dessert taco.
The best barbecue in town and great service. The Rib Shak serves delicious pulled pork, chicken, burgers ribs, you name it! Try their Soul Taco- Flat Cornbread with pulled pork, slaw, and pickles.
The restaurant every small town needs that makes you feel like your back at Grandmama's house. Tiger's Inn serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner (hours and menus differ depending on the day). We recommend their Pecan Pancakes for breakfast.
Eclectic and unique restaurant and bar. Vintage 1889 was originally an old mill that they turned into a 3 story antique shop and restaurant. Live music is played most Thursday-Saturday nights. Great burgers and atmosphere. Most unique item on the menu is the Jesse Burger.. doughnuts instead of bun.
Hole in the wall restaurant that is a local go to for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Has something on the menu for everyone-- highly recommend the chicken nuggets for kids. Enjoy sitting down with the Menlo Locals or quick service if you need to get it to go. CASH ONLY!!
Family Style Restaurant and bar. Open most days for lunch and dinner. We recommend trying their steak or philly cheese steak sandwich.
A local favorite for New York style and brick oven pizza. Everything on the menu will leave you satisfies while leaving room for their tasty ice cream. Our go to is the meatball appetizer, Hypocrite pizza (a veggie pizza with pepperoni), and their black cherry ice cream. The buffalo chicken sandwich is also a crowd pleaser.
The Creag is part of the McLemore Golf Club. Enjoy beautiful views and a bite to eat after a round of golf or come for dinner to enjoy a nice meal. They have concert series and events (see website). Coming Soon... there will be a championship golf course across from here.
Looking for a romantic dinner for two or a nice sit down meal with the family, the Canyon Grill is the spot. Known for their top of the line, juicy, and delicious steaks. This is another restaurant where you can BYOB or wine. Close to Cloudland Canyon State Park if you want to enjoy the overlooks of the canyon before dinner.
Neopolitan wood fired pizza. We recommend hiking at Cloudland Canyon State Park and then refueling here on delicious pizza.
One of the tallest waterfalls in the state of Alabama with swimming areas above and below. Above the falls are mosaic art stairs leading to the waterfall overlook. There is a public swimming area and kayak rentals available by the parking lot. Before you get to Desoto State Park, there is a small parking area at the trailhead that goes to the bottom of the falls. You will need to get there early to claim a parking spot. Take the pink trail down to the bottom of the falls to swim or hangout.

Grace's High Fall is the tallest waterfall in the state of Alabama which is located within the Little River Canyon National Preserve. The 15,288-acre Preserve is home to rare and threatened plant and animal life like the Blue Shiner. Below the parking lot of the canyon, there is an overlook or you can take the trail down to the Hippie Hole to cool off on a hot summer day. Expert level kayakers often kayak down the whole length of the falls which is quite the sight to see. If you take The Canyon
Located on the western edge of Lookout Mountain, this is one of the most scenic parks in the state, offering rugged geology and beautiful canyon and mountain views. The park straddles a deep gorge cut into the mountain by Sitton Gulch Creek. The most spectacular view into the canyon is found near the picnic area parking lot; however, additional views can be found along the rim trail. Hardy visitors who hike to the bottom of the gorge find two waterfalls cascading over layers of sandstone and sha
A top pick when hiking and traveling with kids. Kids enjoy the playground, feeding ducks from the lake’s boardwalk and renting pedal boats. Surrounded by rural countryside and the Chattahoochee National Forest, this quiet park in northwest Georgia offers fishing on two stocked lakes. After hiking to an old marble mine with small waterfall, plus lake loop trails, visitors can relax in swings. The trailhead to long-distance Pinhoti Trail is a 1.6-mile hike away.
